The Structure.
This course is a mirror of industry. You’ll be working on projects constantly, completing self-devised, in-house and live client briefs as well as building the wider creative skills necessary for a career in the contemporary photography world. Creativity is at the heart of what we do. There are no exams and you will be assessed purely on the work required in each module.
We work exclusively with our resident artists to provide week-long masterclasses. And we’re proud of it. We’ve had in residence, Sari Soininen, Lucy Helton, Besides Press (Michael Alberry, Harry Flook and Tom Booth-Woodger), Garry Loughlin, Phillipa Klaiber and Michael Swann. These masterclasses introduce you to new ways of seeing and making images. They provide a space for collaborative practice, while giving you the freedom to experiment, take risks, and build a professional network of photographers and artists.
Indicative Tools: Digital and Analogue Cameras, Darkroom, Digital Printing, Alternative Printing Processes, Zine, Photobook and Portfolio Fabrication, Adobe Creative Cloud, DaVinci Resolve.
Studio Fees: There is an annual fee of approximately £200 for year 1, £300 for year 2 and 3 to subsidise the consumables required across the academic year. Studio fees in 2 and 3 also contribute to the cost of exhibition space and photobook production.
